100,000 Friends and Supporters?

In summer of 1995 I began what has come to be quite a journey. I started, the John Galt jr. for President page and subsequently Web Station #19. I realized from the beginning if I were to accomplish anything I would have to reach a lot of people and the internet seemed a prime way to do it. So I started collecting email addresses and by August 2004 I had amassed 117,000 plus addresses. When I tried to email these people I ran into two major problems. One is that many people switch email addresses more often than they shower. Two is Aol is a major pain in the ass and constantly suspends my mailing rights for sending out too many emails, at once, in an hour, in a day, etc. Reguardless I shared my thoughts with 70,000 people (based on mail returns)

So Basically after removing all dead addresses I am down to around 100,000 friends and supporters, but to send a email message to everyone without violating aol rules, it takes two months...

Some people are curious how they ended up on my mailing list. First off everyone who has written to me, at Web Station #19, John Galt jr Page or Sshh Festivals is on my lists. Everyone who sent me an instant message was added to the lists. Often if I see an email sent to me that is Carbon Copied to others I will add them to my lists believing that if they were interested in content as I was, they were also good contacts. For the past ten years I have personally surfed the web looking for posts that reflect my views and collected the email addresses of those who wrote them. Many many people signed up at the Web Station #19 information table at various festivals.
I have also looked through Profiles at places like Aol, Yahoo, Legalize, Map, and Yahooka. I also have included everybody who has been on the SShh Festivals lists.
All in all I have 75 separate lists categorized by location and or interest.

In any case if you would like to be removed from my mailings all you have to do is send me an email requesting removal, please include the subject line code (an * followed by 1-4 letters) or the date and time my last letter was sent to you and you will be removed.
